Stop the presses! There's big news out of Hollywood, and it isn't any of that fake news you've been hearing about. No, this is big news. It takes a true movie fan to completely grasp the enormity of this event. The Universal reboot of the film The Mummy will have its world premiere on June 5 in Los Angeles, which has been identified as a safe city for all sorts of Hollywood monster types. The Mummy is the first release in the Universal Monsters series--a shared universe of action-adventure/horror films, including rebooted versions of films from the original series. The films are being made and distributed by Universal Studios and are currently in various stages of development. All your old favorites will be coming back to the silver screen in modernized versions. New versions of Frankenstein's Monster, Count Dracula, The Wolf Man, Gill-Man, The Invisible Man, Bride of Frankenstein are being shot as you read this. Even films that you may have thought were played out will come alive under the watchful eyes of new producers, directors and stars.
The Mummy boasts two of Hollywood's most bankable stars--Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe. And here at VIP Concierge, we boast of having tickets to the world red carpet premiere and the stunning, lively, exciting after party. You can boast, too, after you buy a pair of tickets. Your friends will be doing all sorts of favors for you to try to get that extra ticket, but save it for your special someone. They'd appreciate that.
I mentioned big news, but I haven't told you what it is yet. Get this. The Mummy is one of this summer's few blockbusters that does not have a colon in its title. It stands alone, naked, confident that just the mention of a new mummy movie will get you all worked up and rarin' to attend the premiere.
Of course, you know the plot. It goes something like this. 2,000 years ago, the Egyptian princess Ahmanet, played by Sofia Boutella, murdered her father and was punished by being buried alive in a tomb deep beneath the sands. After her tomb was rediscovered and opened in modern times, she became resurrected, bringing with her a malevolent grudge that grew over the millennia. She has terrors that will defy all of humanity. Uh-oh. Watch out humanity. "She will claim all that she has been denied." Check out the trailer if you don't believe me. They even say those exact words. Just that action sequence gives a glimpse of how new versions of old chestnuts will bring to bear new technology.
Right now, we have exactly four tickets to the premiere and after party, so you should get in motion and pick up a pair or all of them, if you are a really popular person with a huge posse. If you're not hugely popular, you will be when your friends find out that you have tickets to The Mummy.
