Walking past the ropes can at times be as simple as tipping the doorman, booking a VIP table, or asking your concierge to arrange for you to be on the VIP guest list. However, this alone sometimes may not get you past the velvet ropes at the most exclusive establishments, with the exception being our VIP Members whom we make sure NEVER wait in line.
Despite the aforementioned arrangements, you could still find yourself desperate and frustrated while your party waits outside for your table to become ready or ,worse yet, the table suddenly becomes unavailable due to capacity, or more typically, last minute high profile attendees who have “acquired” your table.
Fundamentally, first off you must look and act the part. Dress sharp and arrive in style. Remember there is no such thing as overdressed (unless you arrive in a tuxedo or bow tie!). For fine-tuning and honing your image, your best bet is to hire an image consultant (we provide this option for our VIP Members). They are not cheap, but they are expert at helping you to develop and maintain the right image to match “you,” both professionally and personality-wise. If this is not an option for you right now, set up a private appointment at an upscale clothing store. Even Macy’s offers a private consultative shopping experience! They may not be as good as an expert image consultant, but they’re better than you!

VIP’s are not typically any more attractive, smarter, younger, athletic, nor more financially secure than you are. Being a VIP does not necessitate these characteristics. Attractive men often have just as many difficulties socially as the average Joe. Being a VIP is about attitude, confidence, and knowledge. Ever see this average looking Joe with beautiful women around him? He acts the part and therefore people treat him the way he presents himself. If that type of man can become a VIP, surely most others can also.

What do VIP’s know that you don’t?
Just as you know your business better than anyone else, a VIP makes being a VIP their business. In addition to their profession, they devote significant time and effort towards establishing the image and network they need in order to become successful as a VIP. They do this somewhat inconspicuously. All others typically are aware of are the fruits of their investment…their image, reputation, social standing, admiration from others, an apparent magnetism that seems to attract the cream of the crop in high society, and of course, VIP treatment.
Unfortunately, in today’s busy world, where business travels at Internet speed and competition exists both locally and globally, successful executives often do not possess the free time or resources necessary to successfully cultivate an amazing social life and status, researching what’s new, where to be seen, who to meet, etc.
In recent years, the delegation of different social and lifestyle aspects to respected experts and professionals has burgeoned in popularity. Hence, VIP Concierge! In order to become a social virtuoso they allow the experts to help them propagate and manage their social life. Welcome to the world of VIP Concierge! In our business, we often serve clients from across the United States and globally who are sophisticated, successful, powerful, and wealthy. One might assume that these individuals would be the quintessential “VIPs”, that is, invited to the most exclusive events, able to gain access to the hottest locales, accompanied by a beautiful woman (or women, or men, etc, etc), you get the picture. However, to assume that would be WRONG!!!
It is often quite the opposite. Prior to working with us, they had trouble getting access or into “hot” night clubs or seating at top restaurants during prime hours. They would never receive calls inviting them to the hottest events and happenings, such as Award Shows, Movie Premieres, or A-List Parties. They even had trouble finding dates occasionally! Essentially, outside of their business environment or their beautiful homes, they were generally treated like the rest of us! How could this be?
The bottom line is that the skills, knowledge, and behavior, and skills required to achieve success socially as a VIP are:
- Not taught during our formal education
- Not taught by our family, except in some super-wealthy households
- Over-looked during the pursuit of professional success

What exactly is a VIP?
The term VIP is elusive and difficult to define; however, it is quite easily identified. A VIP is always seen at the hottest new restaurants and nightclubs. They are invited to the most exclusive parties and social events. He (and she) is adored by stunning women (and men) and considered a friend by the most influential people.
A VIP never has a problem making reservations on a moment’s notice. They walk past the masses at the hottest night spots as doormen greet them adoringly and usher them past the velvet ropes. They then spend the evening drinking and dancing while socializing with the elite. Importantly, even outside of their immediate locality, the VIP’s inner spark that emanates from them and helps define their status persists.
