Let's Get Critical at the 2015 Critics Choice Movie Awards
Who cares what the critics think? Fans hate being told what they like, why they like it and anything about the standards of taste. Celebrities, on the other hand, need this type of feedback, especially when it's positive. When critics have something good to say, the celebrities can't stop talking. When their latest performance is ridiculed, it's enough to put any A-lister in hiding. The influence critics have on celebrities and their success or failure is amazing, and this power is always evident at the annual Critics Choice Movie Awards, which have been a Hollywood tradition for the past 20 years.
The award show formerly known as the VH1 Critics Choice Movie Awards has found a new home on the distinguished Arts and Entertainment network, better known as A&E-at least for the next two years. It's like when you change apartments and can't find the right place. This award show has bounced around from network to network and has finally found a suitable home, or so it would seem. In the real world, the Critics Choice Movie Awards have found a nice, cozy abode at the Hollywood Palladium. Doesn't that theater just sound glamorous?! The event is scheduled for January 15, 2015, the perfect, most auspicious date for an award show.
Traditionally, the Critics Choice Movie Awards have been the meat in a very glamorous award show sandwich created by the Screen Actors Guild Awards® and the famously aurelian Golden Globe® Awards. Scrumptious! Everyone wants to take a big, juicy bite out of that sandwich. If case you forget, like we did, the Critics Choice Movie Awards are issued jointly by the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA). These folks know what they're talking about. Only a few select films earn the prestigious "Critics Choice" seal of approval. One of them is the blockbuster "Gone Girl." Unlike some other lesser quality award shows, the Critics Choice Movie Awards are about quality and substance. The judges will weigh in on the contenders this December, in preparation for the January 15th award show.
Speaking of award shows and the mega-popular after parties, this even is one humdinger with a star-encrusted guest list. The pomp of the red carpet entrance and award show ceremony is topped off by a wild after party. If you're going to host an all-out-gala, the after party must be even bigger. This one is. If you want to get critical, VIP Concierge will hook you up with Critics Choice award show tickets and those must-have after-party passes that are so hard to find. Oh, yes, we will!
