The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards Celebrate 28 Years!
Closing in on three decades of slime-powered fun, the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards are older the most of the young fans who want to attend. If you read the headline, and we certainly hope you have, this year marks the show's 28th anniversary. Fittingly, the show is scheduled for March 28, 2015. Start the countdown, y'all. Time is running out to get your Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards tickets and a chance to win of the hearts of your teens and tweens once and for all.
All we can say is bring on the orange carpet and roll out the barrels of slime because this is going to be one heck of a good time. Barring another unfortunate water main break like the one that flooded (ruined) the multi-million dollar renovations at the Pauley Pavilion, the show will be returning to UCLA in Westwood. Last year, the show took a sojourn to the Galen Center at USC. What?! Nickelodeon is the only organization that doesn't see the irony of nixing the power of this age-old rivalry. Regardless, the Kids' Choice Awards bring together all kinds of people.
In addition to the stars of your favorite shows like iCarly, Fairly Odd Parents, Sam & Cat and all of the others, the show attracts an endless list of celebrities and a host of world-class musical guests. One Direction, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez and Justin Timberlake are the type of outstanding performers that attendees can expect to see. Celebrities fill the theater, clime on stage to present awards and participate in outrageous slime stunts.
The excitement starts long before the orange carpet is rolled out and ages before the adorable blimp trophies are given away. The Nick forums are already alive with speculation on who will host the show. Let's just say that Nick Cannon and Kevin Hart are top contenders with the people who matter-the kids.
Today, Nickelodeon ranks the year's best movies, music and TV shows by collecting votes from under 18s in six continents. Yeah! The Kids' Choice Awards are that big! Considering that the usual kids' social calendar includes play-dates, sleepovers, birthday parties and afternoons at the roller rink, this is one highly anticipated event. If you've seen viral videos of kids screaming and crying after learning that they're going to Disneyland, this is even better! Your kids will love and adore you if you give them award show tickets for an upcoming birthday or holiday. One more thing: call it the KCA, your lovely children might actually understand.
